Synecdochic (

But I just can't agree with her )

Well. Yes. He is techniaclly an addict. He says it. We say it. We ALL say it. The thing is, there's a semantic line that's drawn. His body is actually addicted and if you go off what you're addicted to, you go a bit insane. It's basic chemistry. The finger thing was more about how much pain he was in than being addicted anyway.
HOWEVER. There is a differences between being addicted and being an addict.
The only time his addiction interferes with his life, becomes life threatening, or he goes a bit insane is when other people try to take it away. House is actually in pain and no one knows exactly how much pain he's in. It's enough that even with the pain meds he can still feel it. But the addiction doesn't rule his life the way it does a true addicts. Those times he's risking patient's lives? Are when other people make him detox to prove a point.

I get where you're coming from. But the Tritter story line was so unbeleivably not near reality it kind of hurt. The way he went on a vendetta and the way the show portrayed his ability to get under House's skin.
The medical records he got into and just blithely went through, etc. That all happened too easily.
Considering what happened when we finally saw a judge on the show, I find it hard to believe that the judges issuing the warrants were so free with certain liberties.

The realities of how Tritter was getting warrents etc were completely wrong but more to the point I felt that everyone's REACTIONS were totally fantastic and spot on. The WAY people acted felt real to me and frankly that was enough for me to go along with the bullshit police procedures.
