Josef Maria Auchentaller  was for more than a decade active as a  painter and a  graphic artist  in the Viennese art revolution; the Secession, 
He participated in the Secession exhibitions around 1900 and was also involved in the publication of the magazine “Ver Sacrum”, the Secession’s official organ. His decision to leave Vienna in 1903, isolated him from the Vienna art scene.
The Leopold museum has now an exhibition about this 'prodigal son'.  You can visit it till the end of september and you can read everything about him here:
