Hey now, hey now now.

I've long wanted to post some love for JANE AND THE DRAGON - this great animated show that Weta did along with Nelvana after a Mr. Martin Baynton's children's book. I wish that a DVD set existed so that we wouldn't be stuck watching the same few episodes, great as they are. And so that there would be some making of material that I always go nuts over.

So why is JATD so darned cool? One, a cute medieval girl that totally kicks ass and swordfights and stuff. Two, a totally cute dragon who is very funny and charming. Three, while it may be toted as a children's show, it doesn't seem to talk down or be 'childish'. Fourth, wowzers, what STYLE! The characters are like really stylin' dolls (not the scary kind), but with nice motion capture, and colored pencil texturing. That last part is especially kickin' in the backgrounds. Let me show you some pics!

Don't worry; the bunny is just a toy ;p

It was strangely difficult to find good screenshots of this show! In the end I mostly shift-prtscrned it from Weta.

Anyway, any other fans out there? You should be! :)
