Man, life can be good sometimes. No, excuse me, life can be great.
Despite the entire seven hour car ride's soundtrack being techno music, my trip to Unirondack with Josh couldn't have been more perfect. I mean, seriously, perfect. After not actually hanging out with him for three years, it's a real joy to know that we can get on so well as friends. We spent the entire time laughing and talking and sharing, and I felt like he'd actually been in my life in a real way forever. Of course lot's of reminiscing occured as well.
The drive down the camp road was an unbearable feeling of anticipation. Once we got there the camp dance was going on and, of course, I joined right in with Lins. And HOLY SHIT. To see campers that are all grown up on staff was really mind blowing. I didn't even recognize Garrett, who had been in my cabin three years in a row, because WTF, now he has grown facial hair! I felt like a real fucking adult (which, as we all know, I am sooo not), seeing all these kids grown up, but truth be told, it was more than wonderful. Lins and I had some sisterly heart to hearts and then I smoked a joint with Josh, appreciating the stars more than ever and smelling that camp smell and got in bed. I woke up cuddling & kissing one of my oldest, long time crushes feeling like the world fell right into place for a minute. And then, on our way out, my cousins showed up! They happened to be visiting camp! I only saw them for a few minutes, but it still pretty fucking great. The ride home felt shorter and though I was bomb tired, enjoyed chatting with Josh & his sis immensely.
Now I am home and ready to fall face first into bed. Ohhh bed, I can't wait. More good things are happening in life as well, but I am too tired to type anymore. More to come.
