After the most complete night of sleep I've had all week, I left Jamie's this morning and met up with Heather. I was shocked that her pal Lainee was a fan of Hedwig - the bug is spreading it appears. Quite a cast of characters today, Pat and Doom being the most memorable. I mean fuck, anybody with a nickname like Doom is a must-meet kinda person. Anyway, we went to one of those tacky, pseudo-nostalgic 50's themed diners called "the Timeless Diner." Hilarity ensued. First off, the waiter was this fifty-something year old guy named Siegfried, where Roy was I haven't a clue. Siegfried had a funny (creepy) way of interacting with us by confirming our menu selections with a "you shall have it." He later was at the jukebox making selections. Steely Dan's "Reeling in the Years" came on and Pat started humming the guitar melody. Siegfried suddenly looked over, hands still on the jukebox, and said through a grin, "Ya like that!?" His eyes on the other hand were saying, "Oh yea, I'm the man..." We all semi-enjoyed our semi-satisfying meals and Siegfried and his team of tigers cleared our table. Some middle-aged Cuban guy addressed Heather as "a real beau-i-ful la'y." Siegfried then tried to scold me about the iron cross embroidered on my vest; naturally, i had to give a history lesson. I hate ignorant people. Hilarity ensued again as my attempts to hit golf balls failed, almost killing poor Lainee in the process. All in all, a day of adventure outside the pale normality you grow accustomed to in here in the wilderness.
