As many of you may have heard, Remains of Troy broke up last Thursday night. Whether or not it wil blow over remains to be seen. Apparently, I'm the only one who at all feels put aback by the mess, feeling a major loss. I guess the major lesson to be learned here is that giving up everytime you hit a speedbump is no way to go through life. Forgive me as I now draw an extremely nerdy comparison. In the Star Wars mythos, the Mandalorians were a vast grouping of warrior clans that traveled the galaxy conquering any planet in their wake. Their reasoning? Challenge, the thrill of the battle, and the gain of honor through such. Though ultimately defeated, the Mandalorians look back at the final battle as one of great honor and reverence for being given the oppurtunity to face a worthy foe. Moral of the story is that life is a struggle. Actually, it's kind of like sailing the seas - smooth as glass one minute, a raging maelstrom the next. The point I'm trying to make is that the only way to advance is to gain experience through conflict, challenge, and in some cases defeat. We will still be performing at the Emergenza festival in March. If we advance far enough, who knows - maybe Troy will evade destruction once more. Rocky never threw in the towel, so why should we?
