History: wiki page

Estellise was born on a world called Terca Lumireis, a distant relative of the ruling family. However, when the Emperor passed away in the Great War and the symbol of succession was lost, several factions began vying for power. The Council chose Estellise to support as an imperial heir, hoping for her to take the throne once she came of age and play puppet ruler for them. She was taken to the capital, Zaphias, as a young child, and raised there.

It was in the castle that she met a visiting Keyblade Master, returned to his home world for a visit. Drake Dropwart saw the young girl's potential and strength of heart, as well as an opportunity to remove her from her home's poisonous politics. He took her as his apprentice, much to the Council's displeasure--they wanted a sheltered, weak willed, ignorant figurehead.

While fighting wasn't her strong suit, Estellise took to her training enthusiastically, reveling in the opportunity to learn so many new things, and meet people from other worlds. While in the castle she had only books for company, after all. She displayed a particular affinity for healing spells.

At eighteen she is approaching her Mastery Exam. Despite traveling with her master, she still holds a somewhat naive, optimistic view of the worlds, and will do anything to uphold the peace.

Personality: Estelle often seems younger than her years, due to lack of experience and her formal upbringing. She possesses a certain brand of idealistic stubbornness that can be both a blessing and a curse. If someone is in trouble, she'll disregard everything else in order to save them, but this often results in her losing sight of what's important. She will often do things like healing someone until she's exhausted, putting aside her own well-being for another's.

She enjoys helping people, and reading and telling stories. She gets lost in books easily, tuning out the outside world to enter fantasy realms. However, when dealing with the real world, she doesn't always realize that things don't happen like they do in books. Despite her sweet, caring nature, her spirits are easily crushed when she makes mistakes. She takes failure hard, and desperately hates being a bother to people. She can be very self-conscious if she thinks she's in the way, making her indecisive and gloomy.

Estellise trusts easily and is very friendly and outgoing, and will treat everyone alike regardless of their social status. She speaks politely and formally. Though she genuinely likes people, Estelle is actually rather insecure about herself. She openly admires women with curvier figures than her. However, she's fairly clueless when it comes to romantic things, and can't really distinguish flirting from friendly conversation. Not that she's unaware of what it is (she's probably read a few romance novels) but she can't always pick it out in real life.

Abilities: As a Keyblade wielder, she specializes in magic, especially healing spells. She's rather slow in battle, but makes up for it with defensive techniques and spells like Reflect.

Skills: Considering she didn't do much else but read for most of her life, she can recite passages of what she's read from memory, word for word. This will usually result in her boring someone to tears with what should have been a simple answer to a question. Other than that, she doesn't exactly have any talents or hobbies.

Weaknesses: Physically, Estellise is slow in battle and doesn't hit very hard, but she makes up for it with magic. She is very reluctant to hurt others, however, and prefers to support rather than fight. But if the need arises, she'll do so.

Otherwise, she's naive and unfortunately easily manipulated thanks to her trusting nature. She's also a little slow on the uptake with jokes or flirting, and takes many things too literally.

Light, Darkness, or In-Between: While Estellise has the tendency to slip towards darkness when she's discouraged, overall she is a being of light: she loves the world and the people she meets without hesitation.

Sample:

It isn't an unusual sight to see the young woman surrounded by children, a book open on her lap. In each hand she holds a hand-drawn paper puppet on a stick, moving them around in time with the story. The group of young students stare up at her wide-eyed, entranced.

"Fearing the worst, the prince rushed into his beloved's room, his sword drawn, and--"

"Lady Estellise."

The formal title and serious tone make her stop, looking up at the older man standing over her. Despite the fact that she's his student, Drake is always careful to remind his pupil of her status by using her title, knowing someday she'll have to return home and take on responsibility befitting of it. Estellise never likes the reminder. She's happy where she is.

"Master? What is it? Is something the matter?"

"Something has come up. The Grandmasters have assigned us a mission. You must prepare to leave immediately."

Estellise looks down, pressing her lips together tightly. A mission meant new places, perhaps, but also the possibility of conflict. And she wasn't finished with the story. The children glance between her and her Master, almost pleadingly.

"I'll be along as soon as I'm finished, I promise. I won't be long."

Drake sighs, clearly having heard this plenty of times before. He doesn't seem to have the heart to scold her for it, however. "Be quick."

"Thank you!" Estellise bows from her sitting position hastily, the book sliding off her lap. One of the children pushes it back up helpfully, and she smiles at him.

"Now, where were we? The prince was about to rescue his beloved, and..."

She doesn't rush through the rest, but the uneasiness she feels is detectable in her movements, as she waves all the children off after the conclusion of the tale. Her master seems to notice this, and frowns.

"Is something troubling you?"

She shakes her head hastily. "No, not at all. I'm ready." And she straightens to demonstrate that, looking determined. She doesn't want to let her master down, no matter what.
