Smoking

What is wrong with my brain that "I have a patch on" sounds so inexplicably dirty to me?

Homicide is my new favorite TV show. Aside from the slashy subtext which I'm about to squee over (which you all know I could find anywhere), it's a just great TV show. Or... was. When it was on. >>;

Last night's episode (season 1, episode 8) had the slashiest scene so far: Pembleton and Bayliss, the two characters Becca and I are slashing, are sitting in a diner. Bayliss is trying to quite smoking. Pembleton asks him for a light and Bayliss tells him he doesn't have one because he doesn't smoke anymore. Pembleton apologizes for asking and changes his mind about smoking the cigarette, but Bayliss insists he have it anyway and gives him a match. As soon as the cigarette is lit, Bayliss starts trying to subtly waft the smoke towards himself. Pembleton obliges him by blowing the smoke directly at his face. Smoking normally grosses me out so much, but somehow between the positioning of the camera and their expressions, this scene seriously one of the sexier things I've seen in a while. It's like a kiss. I mean, their lips are nowhere near each other and I'm pretty sure it wasn't deliberately sexual, but that's hardly the point.

Bonus: Spoilers indicate that Bayliss will eventually come out as bisexual. I am so good at picking the gay ones.

I'm also beginning to really like Kay, the only major female character currently on the show. I wasn't sure about her at first, but she's growing on me.

EDIT: Since words cannot possibly capture how adorable the scene is, I found this (relevant clip is 2:17 - 4:25): http://youtube.com/watch?v=r7yk_3Wl7N4
