Kittens and Eyes....
Kittens: The kittens have all found homes now. Pretty much over night, or so it seemed to me. Wednesday morning, they were all romping the house, knocking things over and helping me type. Wednesday evening, they were gone. Cerri's been going around the house periodically ever since, calling for them. It's so sad. But at least they have good homes.
Eyes: I went to the eye doctor on Tuesday since it's been two years since I should have updated my prescription. Unfortunately, I STILL CAN'T FIND MY BLOODY GLASSES, so now I have new frames, too. I still really miss my old ones. I can't think where the hell they might be. I've looked everywhere I can think of. Several times.
Today I got contacts, which is pretty cool. My face feels naked and confused when I wear them outside. I was a little nervous about getting them in and out, since I hate having things go into my eyes, but apparently my finger freaks me out less than drops of liquid? Wearing them was incredibly surreal at first: I hadn't had my glasses since Sunday, so my eyes had fully adjusted to not having any sort of correction, and then suddenly I could see even better than normal. Everything was overly sharpened and too close and moved weirdly when I looked around. I've realized that when I'm adjusted to not wearing glasses (and maybe even when I am), I use blurriness as major part of judging distance. Which means that anything that improves my vision briefly messes up my ability tell how far away things are, and I feel like I have to walk carefully and hold on to the walls for fear of bumping into something. It's one of the things that drove me crazy about wearing glasses when I first got them. It goes away pretty quick (within an hour or two, today) but ... it's unsettling.
And then I picked up my new glasses. They're ... black. Yeah.
