I don't know the fandom at all, but I don't have to to get this, because it's such a basic assumption in media. Heck, in life. Beauty is a commodity, beauty in females even more so. A woman who is beautiful and a team player puts her body out there for the team to use as it sees fit. (a woman who isn't a team player, otoh, isn't a loner or an iconoclast, but a dangerous bitch.)

All that is to say that I liked this and it made me think. Also that I've friended you. :)

Hi! Welcome! Thanks for checking this out despite lack of fandom knowledge--I agree, this is a much larger issue than just the way it works out in the show.

Okay. First off, I <3 prisonfic in general. Best of all is prisonfic with characterization and motivation, and backstory and feelings and emotions and at least a nod to reality. Prison in itself isn't sexy, but men saving each other with love totally is. :D

I adored highasakite!Gerard, and Mikey trying desperately to hold everything together. I loved loved loved Bob's self-containment, and his patience with Gerard. Frank and Mikey was so very sweet, especially for starting out so awful (although the awful is my favorite part, just so you know. :) The first time scene? Where Frank realized how awful it must have been for Mikey because no one cared to make it easy for him? HEART. CRACKED. Oh, and Mikey knowing all about the nice guys because they were the ones who got you to trust them and then watched you shatter? OW MY HEART BROKE RIGHT THERE. (although because I am a twisted individual, I couldn't help imagining the details of that situation. whomping is love. :)

Trust me when I say you probably cannot shock me with your need for whomping. I think I'm in a rare category when it comes to that.

Pretty much I'm just even worse than I thought I probably would be at law school--and my hopes weren't impressive--and I can't even get myself an internship at this point, so, that bodes well, and all.
