Alterna-V: Day 13
Ms. Roth is a producer. A producer with the singular claim to having produced seven Pultizer Prize winning Broadway plays, and an EPIC CRAP TON of them that won Tonys.
No, really, I'm too lazy to list all of them. It's CRAZY.
Most recently, I'm loving her for helping to get Kinky Boots on the stage, but in general, the woman just has really good taste and excellent business sense.
Also well done on her: her son Jordan is a theater-owner, producer an HUGE gay rights activist.
Producing is NOT glamorous, but if it doesn't happen, neither do the shows. And there are not a ton of female producers. (I know, surprise surprise.) Basically, Ms. Roth has carved out a space in a highly competitive business field and shown everyone where it is at.
She's also eloquent and has good things to say.
