With a few exceptions, staying in MCU, here, because a) my comic knowledge is very specific and b) with Marvel, it depends on which 'verse, anyway.
One for each character, as a limitation on the situation.
1. Natasha fears the Hulk. She doesn't let it stop her at any point, but yeah, that's something she's not messing with, if she has the choice. (Also, will pick up in the middle of a mission for Clint.)
2. Thor wants to be himself, wants to protect and love, more than he wants power.
3. Tony's shell is hard to break, but if you manage, you're probably in for life. He will even, at select times, share his toys.
4. Bruce broke Harlem once, but he came back to New York, because a kind of dickish billionaire and some serious misfits need him on their side. (Also, Hulk's smile.)
5. Steve's desire to feel like he's on even ground again, the way he strives toward center but is so clearly off. And his respect for Natasha.
6. Clint's life? No, um, the fact that even when Clint has found something comfortable, something solid, in SHIELD, he is willing to question orders to make the choices he feels are right.
7. Coulson. His value of that which has come before. If Phil were a real person, he'd totes be one of the vintage lindy kids, but the nice kind. He has a well of kindness about him.
8. Fury has no problem jumping from helicopters, bitch.
9. The way I read Maria's desire for faith at the end of the film.
10. How Jane will always, ALWAYS be distracted by science. And how completely fearless she is.
11. Pepper's bluntness. She's charming, and usually charming people obfuscate, but Pepper works with the truth in a similar but different way from Natasha.
