I definitely prefer this story to the previous "Paddy to Sp**s" one (that was yuck), but again, it's hard to know how much truth there is in it. Arsene Wenger is being his typical ole self and
refusing to confirm nor deny the rumours. Maybe what he says is true, and he simply doesn't know. But I wanna know your thoughts.
Let's say, hypothetically, that Arsene Wenger is interested in bringing Vieira back to Arsenal. Let's say it actually happens. Do you guys want him? Why so? Is it because you value what he can bring to the club as a player, or what he can bring to the club as a presence on the pitch, on the bench and in the dressing room? Or why not? Because he's had his time and it would disrupt the harmony of the team? Because you don't rate him anymore? Because we wouldn't know whether to give him back his number four, strip Fabregas of the captaincy and return it to Vieira? (I personally think that would be a very mean thing to do and not at all wise, but I was actually discussing this with someone else earlier, who disagreed and thought that if Vieira came back, the captaincy should be returned to him.)
This is all very much a hypothetical scenario and Vieira does still remain an "Arsenal legend" rather than a current member of the Arsenal squad. But as far as I'm concerned, I'd love to see him back in an Arsenal shirt, so long as it meant keeping the foundations of the team as it is now the same. That means, keep Cesc as captain, and Vieira to slot in beside him.
