Not Dead just Dreaming

Today seems to have been a good day. Things since Christmas have been going up and down on the job front. During Christmas I heard I was to have my research published in two scientific journals, then when the proofs came through the editors had made some wonderfully stupid mistakes. Once again my poor boss has been given another name, not quite as bad as the publication where he was named on the paper as "Gim" but enough to make you still cringe. I then heard last week after a 5 month wait that the grant I had applied for to continue some of the afore mentioned research had not been funded so once again I am now scrambling around trying to find money so that I can continue to do what I love. But then today my boss wandered into the laboratory and casually stated that he was waiting for me to give him my CV so that he could proceed with putting me forward for a promotion.

Apparently this is not a day to complain, not a day to slack and definitely a day to continue pushing forward.
