What's Next?

What happened to automatically finding a job after graduating? Are those days over?!  Apparently to get a good job in Policy I need to be in Washington DC and I don't want to move right now. So i'm taking a chance and applying to this graduate program tthat only admits in the Fall and if I dont get in then its back to my original plan of going for my MPA and apply for January.
