I'm SO SICK of being disappointed by CDs I've been anticipating for a long time. I think it all went down hill when Cheer Up came out... But I haven't been happy with any new release of even my favorite bands. What makes me so angry is that I buy these CDs and then feel obligated to keep them because I really like the bands.. But I know I will only listen to a few songs, if that, and could easily just burn the songs I like onto a disc and sell the CD to someone. Grrrr.
CDs I've been disappointed with:
*Reel Big Fish - Cheer Up!
*Less Than Jake - Anthem
*Ataris - So Long, Astoria
*Descendents - Cool To Be You (although it is starting to grow on me, it's still not as good as I wanted it to be)
*Sugarcult - Palm Trees and Powerlines (the main reason I'm writing this entry)
*Nerf Herder - the new one
*Rancid - Indestrucible
*NOFX - Pump Up The Valluum (The War On Errorism was good)
*MxPx - Whatever the new one's called
*Antifreeze - The Search for Something More (it's growing on me)
*Blink 182 - Self-titled
*Common Rider - This Is Unity Music (considered as Op Ivy's sequel)
Gah, there are just too many disappointments in music these days. Thank God for the new bands coming along to take the place of the musicians who need to retire. Like Much The Same.... If you agree with me, respond with a list of CDs you've been disappointed with in the last few years. If you disagree with me (like Ben H will), respond and tell me I suck and should die.
