I got a phone call yesterday. From this Japanese woman, who works as a child protection officer of Unicef. It turned out that my former boss recommended me to her. And she asked if I'm interested in being a part of this research : the impact of psychosocial activities for children, etc. I was all: yes, I am!
I sent her my resume, and a little background of myself. And this afternoon she called me and said, "You are hired." The most glorious three words in English dictionary!
The contract will be three months only. And I will be supervised by these Italian professors, and will report to her. And it's in Aceh. Also, technically Dinsos will pay my salary, but I will work at Unicef office and will be working closely with their officers. Tecnicality, smechnicality! Who cares about who is paying who?!
Man! I'm so happy! I can't believe it. I've wanted to work for Unicef for sooo long. I kept getting rejected...(but, what a sweet rejection that was...), and now they called me up and asked me to work for them!
You know why I want to work for Unicef so bad? Because, dudes, it's freaking cool!!! :) :) :)
*subdued* Now I can learn to open my eyes and be a part of something that I believe in.
Aww...isn't Indri naive, rookie and always enthusiastic? That's what most people at work thought of me, by the way! :) I take that as a compliment! Who wants to be cynical and sour? It's easier being enthusiastic, optimistic, and naive!
I will mature and not sulk when things don't go my way...think of the greater good: children.
