That song is amazing. Your translation sounds definitely not-clunky to me! Good luck at your appointment today, too!

Haha thanks! It's good to have someone else comment on its clunkiness-or-not, because I was mostly preoccupied with "But it doesn't rhyme in English and that makes it sound weird and AUGH THE PRETTY WHERE DID IT GO D:"

Then again, last I checked most of your translation experience was in Japanese and Latin, so your perception of what a "clunky" translation would be is possibly along the lines of something that is NEVER excusable between Spanish and English, even if online translators are involved. xD

Ayup, there are some... beasts of sentences that come out in Japanese translations sometimes. I was tutoring first-year students last semester, and some of the things they came up with..! :O In Spanish, at least, I guess most of the clauses go in nominally the same places as the English version? (Doesn't actually know)

I would say that's correct, for the most part (I'm sure there are some scant exceptions that I'm just not thinking of). Sometimes in Spanish versus English it sounds better one way or the other, but it's usually in cases where you can switch clauses around without disrupting meaning, even if one position tends to be favored *shrugs*

Speaking of omg clauses and words and translations and shit, you should remember German so we can chat together. <3 :D And then you should teach me all your Japanese. I can offer you Spanish or Portuguese in return..? :D

Um how about YES THAT SOUNDS AWESOME. The German was a long time ago, but I'm sure I could scrounge it up out of my head... probably? :D;; And I love Japanese!! Let's talk about Japanese, and you can teach me Spanish, and everything will be super awesome!!!

xD I'm sorry if I made your brain implode. o.o; Now if I think about it, I'd probably react the same way if someone tried to write Latin at me. <3

Ich kann nicht mehr Deutsch sprechen? <--- I think.

My question is, why are you putting in "más" and "el Deutsch"?? Do you have any reason to default to Spanish there? I thought you hadn't studied Spanish. :o Tell me your secrets!!
