Fictional blogging
The author of my long time favorite webcomic, The Phoenix Requiem, has started posting daily journal entries by her characters (daily from their point of view, that is, to help keep track of time in the story). I think this is beyond fantastic, both because it does well with that narrative, and because I'd like to do the same thing.
As far as the Phoenix Diaries, go, Anya's and Jonas's voices are both adorable. Anya is sensible through and through, and it's clear she hardly realizes how much she likes him. And Jonas is much shorter on marbles than I had previously suspected. Sweet, sweet joy. :D
Now, my only question for myself is, which characters do I have who would write journals? Johann is too suspicious of the people around them to commit thoughts to paper. Rosie might, but the story is already narrated by her, and as she's catching some of his paranoia, she would probably burn the paper as soon as she finished. Franz is a tomboy, but I'd bet her brother would be game.
On second thought, I bet Johann would journal in code. I can so see that. This needs further consideration.
