Also, the second transmission came in after Tohru told Fayt of Skuld's location. Since she told him to be careful about disclosing it, he's decided to lead the backup search party himself and take the two other people that's 'left' who he trusts with his life - Albel and Selphie. He would've asked Jing, but he's currently playing on the wrong side; Sheifa's an amnesiac and is in no shape to fight; Maria's best left to leadership tasks, and perhaps take over should something happen to him; and he can't bear to put Aerith in danger.
