Life's not supposed to be easy.

It's not about optimism, it's just about not giving up.

Ah, but "giving up" takes many curious shapes, yes~?

...not really. Giving up is pretty much giving up, however you slice it.

There is no difference between the queen who runs from her too-heavy responsibilities; drowning herself in dresses of golden fabrics, bathing in milk and eating cake when her people is starving... and the king who cannot bear the shame of facing an already lost war; so many soldiers dead, so many mothers to inform of their loss, choosing not to face tomorrow by putting a gun to his temple?

An intriguing perspective~.

How much it takes is different for everyone, but it's all the same thing in the end. It's still a selfish thing to do, whatever form it takes.

But what good does one make, broken and torn to pieces?

Making the effort is still a better choice than deciding that nothing in the world is more important than your own pain.

I wonder what the little boy calling out for a mother who will never come shall live for, if not for the pain of being abandoned~?

Duty. Destiny. Getting stronger. Getting over it. Pick one.

Perhaps it is too late for any of these options, yes?

That's not the point. There doesn't have to be a reason to keep going. You do it because the alternative is to lie down and die. And that's selfish and it's weak.

Do not be mistaken. Weakness lies not in embracing death, but in running from it!

No, I'm not wrong. I've been there myself. It was the wrong choice and other people paid for it.

You have embraced death?
