An influx of people, yes~? Emotions dripping thickly from the skies like rain.

Reunion brings with it great joy, but also new departures. A meeting always leads to a parting. Certainly very fittingEmbrace old friends while they are still here. Soon they shall be gone, swallowed up by the shadows, and all which is left... ah, but a faint memory ( Read more... )

life is cursed, curious lack of elisabeth, oh but a mere shadow observation, watch me humour you, human relationships are dusty, death in writing, mortal freak show, 4th wall day, the grass analogy never grows old

[One such emotion is naked surprise as Ami finds herself before Tod.]

[She glances away, that distance between them again]

Parting is natural.

[she might be thinking of any of a thousand things]

[ He is... yes, surprised at seeing this girl before him. Not because he does not recognise her, he does. They have met before. Never here, however. ]

[Right now, she's forgotten the reasons she has to greet him as a friend, and so she greets him with that old guardedness he knows just as well]

Of course I know it. I left where I was before.

[ Confusion. It is the sweetest of emotions. He throws his head back and laughs. She is at his mercy now - in this world she cannot leave on her own. ]

Are you afraid, Mercury?

"I'm Mizuno Ami," she corrects him immediately, more for concern over being overheard than a hope of keeping her identity from him, who already knows it.

"Anyway, I'm not afraid." She tosses her head. "There's no reason for me to be."

You are who you are. I cannot change this.

[ He narrows his eyes at her. So stubborn - he has not forgotten, no. But has she? Therein lies the intriguing aspect. ]

I will not change it.

[ In a flash, he's so close to her that their breaths mingle. His eyes bore into her, but the smile - and all its arrogance - does not vanish from his features. The intimacy is not a direct threat as much as a bodily curiosity. His fingers grip her chin, hard. ]

Fallen angel of strength and pride~.

[Oh, far, far from the girl who'd welcomed him so openly such a short while ago, she tears herself away from him immediately, glaring fiercely]

I don't want someone so close. Understood?

[ He allows her to free herself. Like Elisabeth, Mercury once more believes there is freedom through other means but him. She does not remember the peace he gave her. He will make her remember. Little by little. ]

For now, I will allow you your way.

But do not be mistaken. You will come to me - willingly.

[ Turning around, his lips curve in a smile. Where will she go? What will she do? He is her only link to the City. This is sweet victory. ]

[She is capable of moving between dimensions, but she is also used to it being difficult. She does not try to return - yet]

No one's giving you a choice. I won't let you just take me however you want. I have something else more important to do.

[ For how long will she uphold her stubborn attempts at withstanding him? How long will he remain her enemy - instead of the friend he once was? Not long. Not if you ask him. ]

Rather, it is you who have no say in this matter.
