Dream: 02

[Just a few notes here, first, creative license was taken on this, since due to lack of information and mistranslations of the canon, much of this canon history is very confusing. Also, the viewpoints on this will seem complex, because it switches often, and throughout it there seem to be two people the story is being told by, one living it, and one observing it, which makes it even more confusing to someone watching through the Dreamberry. And of note, the explanation for this will contain spoilers.]

I-I'm... not ready for this!

A young boy, definitely no more than a teenager looked upon the massive destruction that had been wrought that day to see if anyone had survived that magical blast. His white robes were covered in dirt and his light blue hair lay loose on his back in tangles.

He couldn't have been the only one, someone else had to have survived the attack, and then the magic used to resist, right?

I can't be the only one left

He looked around, but amidst the destruction, he found no signs of life. He didn't understand what had protected him. What made him so special? Everyone deserved to live, right?

Then he finally saw some sign of life, he could see his mentor lying on the ground. Was he the one who had caused this? He ran over to the man and bent down beside him. He was about to say the words to the magic that would heal the man but the man weakly raised his hand stopping the boy.

"Don't...waste...energy. You must go."

The boy looked upset. He knew he wasn't done with his training. "But you'll die!"

"Lead...our people...to safety."

The boy looked down towards the ground. Were there even any of them left besides himself to lead to a safer place? Was there even a safe place remaining for their people? They had already fled one planet as it was. Now they were facing being exterminated completely again.

And for what? Just because they were different? It made no sense.

Suddenly the scene changed to a more peaceful scene. A boy who looked the same as the previous one, but instead didn't look like he had been through hell and back was standing there. Standing near him is a man who looks like an older version of both him and the previous boy, he is wearing a white cloak like the dying man in the previous scene was wearing.

"You are the chosen one. You must lead our people. I won't be around forever to lead them, and you have much training to go through."

This young boy shook his head.

Then the scene switched back to the other boy looking at his dying mentor. That boy took the cloak the man was wearing, it was an important symbol and showed that the person who wore it was the leader. He raised the hood so that his face was hidden in the shadows. The cloak was large on him, it was almost symbolic, showing that the boy needed to grow more to fit his new role better.

But at least now, none would see the sadness in his eyes over the events of this day. In such a short time he was thrust into adulthood and being a leader. He wasn't ready for it.

But their very lives depended on it. Everyone's lives depended on it.

"I'll make sure everyone is safe."

The dying man smiled. "You'll...do well."

The scene then switched back to the other young boy. It was amazing how similar he was to the first in appearance, even down to the age and everything. The difference in their attitudes was very obvious, but yet both lacked confidence in themselves, both thought themselves too young for such a heavy burden of leadership.

The older man looked at him. "Walk with me. Let me explain why you must do this."

Rune woke up, shaking in fear. This wasn't the first time he dreamed this, it probably wouldn't be the last, and it always had this effect on him.

But this time, he had a new reason to be scared, he hadn't figured out those filters yet, so now who knows who just saw that, and who would be asking questions about this dream.
