It's been an awful long time since I last posted. I'm not sure if I can even recall all the events in the last -- what, month? -- without referring to my pictures. Speaking of which, I had a marathon round yesterday where I posted everything up to the 20th. Like I said, lots of stuff going on.
The main events as of the last time I wrote are:
- Trip to Florida
- CSU Alumni Retreat
- Good Times at 209
- Priestly Ordinations
- Andrew and Carmen's Wedding (which I missed, more on that later)
- Two Magree birthdays (Beth and Tim)
- Three graduations (Daniel, Tim, and Marissa)
- Summer really kicking into high gear
- Starting my first woodworking project: a bat-house!
So, I got really sick during the Florida trip. I don't handle not sleeping well... well... well. And then of course, we were go-go-go the whole time, so I didn't have time to recuperate during the trip. To this day, three weeks later, I still have a bit of a cough. I'm better, but it took a solid week of passing out with NyQuil to sort me out. Anyway, that's why I had to miss the wedding. I only just found out yesterday, while uploading pics to Facebook, that I had a name card at the table, which made me feel really bad about missing it. I didn't mind too much being an impersonal "and guest".
Really excited about continuing my woodworking project. I'm doing it in the Magrees' basement. They've got a full-on workshop down there. It's pretty sweet. I'm still not proficient using the tools, but I'm sure I'll get better the more projects I do. The current one is a plywood bat-house, which will hang somewhere in
morganmalfoy's back yard. The hardest part so far has been cutting out the bat-pattern, which is in the old 1960s Batman style. Also, it was surprisingly difficult to find wood of the right size. The shrinkage problem really does exist. I ended up buying a thinner board that I'll cut and stack up to achieve the requisite thickness.

X in Hulu's anime collection. This
CLAMP series tells the story of some characters I saw in
Tsubasa, who I really wanted to see explored further.
Have not been reading much lately. Recently re-read His Majesty's Dragon, The Honor of the Queen, and On Basilisk Station. Since then, I've been working my way through my CACM magazines, which have been piling up since before my move. Lots of interesting articles, but also a lot of boring math. Just a few more inches left to go.
I'll be a model pupil tonight, babe
