So the main item on the agenda today is my first
CL meeting. It’s in Berkeley, at the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology. I need to be there by 6pm, which means I need to leave here around 4:45pm, since I need to walk to the local BART station, take the train to the Downtown Berkeley station, and then walk a mile or so to the DSPT. I hope this group is every bit as awesome as its Columbus counterpart.
Other than that, it’s been a pretty laid back day so far. I woke up around 3am and didn’t get back to sleep until 6am. I had a lot of nervous energy and concern about my financial future. Unless he lives alone, the proverbial Caveman has to drag back food for more than just himself, after all. I just hope the future holds the promise of better hunting grounds.
I had intended to take a Star Wars break by reading The Golden Ocean, but as my favorite characters have either been removed from the story (FitzGerald), or feature in it only occasionally (Sean), I have to say it has become more difficult to enjoy. So, when I hit the halfway point last night, I decided to crack open Wraith Squadron. So far (50 pages in), it has proved to be a much more pleasant page-turner to my uncouth intellect. Perhaps if I were familiar with Horace, or understood Irish the book would unfold its delights more agreeably.
(You can tell I’ve just come back from the gym, which meant 2 hours of Pride and Prejudice, can’t you?)
OK. I need food. Time for lunch.
