[This month just keeps getting better and better. Riza had hated to leave Negi during such a horrible time, but this new city suddenly emerging in the Wastes demands her attention. She's made her way to the top of one section of the Great Wall, separating the Safezone from the Wastes, and has her rifle slung across her back, the barrel of the

Ah, hello~ Nice meeting you; I'm Trance. Though... 'misplaced' might be a better word. Or visiting, if some theories turn out to be right.
We seem to have been moved to a section of your universe during an explosion, though the two events may not be related past the timing. Our city is called Veles, and most likely the natives here will stay in the city. I talked to Sebastian a little, so I know both of our cities have the similarity of new residents being from other worlds. Most of ours are good people, but... Well, it doesn't always make them nice, and some just seem to cause or attract trouble. As long as you don't approach looking like you're ready for a fight, I don't see most of them moving in for one either.

It is good to meet you, as well, Trance. I am Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye.
While our situations are unfortunate, it is oddly comforting to know that we seem to be in similar straits. However, may I ask what kind of explosion it was?

You could say Hughes and some others had a very big party. I don't think they were expecting it to turn out like this, though.

And then closes her mouth, shuts her eyes, and lets out a breath to compose herself. A few moments later, she tries again.]
Hughes? Maes Hughes?

[Somehow, that sounds both fascinating and great.]
Which means you know Alphonse, too. You should go say hello- Oh, wait. What point in time do you remember Maes from most recently?
[Just in case she should be forewarned or something.]

[So there's a double of Alphonse. That could be interesting.]
I know all there is to know about Hughes.
Reply
Would that mean you know everything until a certain point in his life, or including after it?

I see... He doesn't talk about, so he might even remember it. If he doesn't, Maes does know that he died back in the world he came from.
[Which means Trance was probably going to give a different warning depending on Riza's answer. If she knew Maes from before it, she'd have just warned that things happened, but kept it vague.]
He works for the government in Veles now. Takes care of the people here and everything. I have a feeling it was like that back in your world, too.

[And her lack of surprise should tip Trance off to what knowledge she holds.]
That does sound like him.
[As much as she'd like to talk about Hughes, Riza knows she needs to know what else is really going on, with everyone.]
You said he was involved in the explosion. What was he trying to do?
Reply
[Ah, the question about the explosions, though. She seems to be debating on how to answer that. Though she eventually decides on face-value without any probabilities and theories.]
Well, I wasn't told the long-term plans or intentions. You know Maes, and where he works, so... His bosses aren't the best people, and the building is in the district he works at.
[And Riza might be able to piece together what Trance is saying, and probably even guess more by knowing Maes more personally.]

...She lets out a breath at that thought.]
He's safe, though?

[That's what she needs to know about him. Maybe they can meet later. It wold be so good to see him again.]
