Yep, I've now been cigarette free for over 42 days. I know I'm doing it the easy way, with NRT patches, but soon I'll be stepping down on them, before having to do without the crutch altogether.
So far, the clever counter doodad I installed on my home computer says I have *not* smoked 1300 cigarettes, and have saved over 4 days of life.
Interestingly, I don't seem to be having the same kind of difficulties I previously experienced, such as sitting in the pub and wanting to tear the patch up and buy a pack. Even through the hell that was the weekend without heating or hot water, I didn't feel the urge. Perhaps now really is the right time....
But, if you were ever one of the people horrified/amazed etc at watching me chain through 20, be proud for me now!
