Summary: Arthur's earliest memories were of his father.
Notes: For the arthur100 prompt "Knowledge and wisdom are real power."
Arthur's earliest memories were of his father. "You will embody the might of Camelot," the king lectured as Arthur cried over the death of his favorite of Uther's hounds. "Your power comes from the steel of your heart. Show no weakness."
Arthur's later memories included Gaius. "Knowledge and wisdom are real power, your Highness," the physician said quietly. "Through them you can rule well."
It wasn't until years later that Arthur remembered those words, when Gaius stood on a smoking pyre and Guinevere and Merlin pleaded for him to stop Aredian's perverted ideas of justice.
