While the Bono glasses are slightly better than the too-small black ones he was wearing last week (and in Snowcake), we need to help him find sunglasses that fit his face and his low key nature.

Any suggestions??

But aren`t those cool? (And they protect the eyes properly, also banning rays from the side.) Seems the sunglasses-store even uses him as a model... quite right so. *LOL*

Too much "look at me", you mean? Oh, well... what would understatement glases be like? He`s wearing the very same glasses in a picture in which he is walking the street in New York, in a grey coat and medium-blue jeans and he looks cool all over :-). They`d be weird with a suit, though. I can`t post the picture as I`m in an internet cafe.

Greetings from Madeira, typing this immersed in a cloud of perfume from a jasmine bush... I don`t want to go home after these holidays, no I don`t want to go home...

*Off in uncool sunglasses, to sip some madeira porter* *LOL*

Sunglasses-store.com/blog appears to grab paparazzi shots of celebrities wearing their brands of sunglasses--if so, it'sgreat free publicity mostly off of actresses like Angelina Jolie, etc. If we could hook him up with the right new shades, we'd see him on there again! lol

When you get home please post the photo with AR in sunglasses and in grey coat (do you mean his baggy grey linen jacket?) The picture I used here (beige jacket) is from NY last week, and he had the grey jacket with him in NY too.....

Enjoy the port! :-)

The picture I meant I meant is from 2003 - he`s wearing the grey coat and light blue jeans and loooks quite stylish. It`s a small photo, not very high res and I can`t remember where I got it from - so I won`t search for it online when I can walk this island instead (won`t be home until the midle of next week, btw, but then I`ll look for it in my endless Alan-files... *LOL*).

The glasses he sports in your pic are cool enough :-).

*off in a cloud of jasmine scent... this island is BEAUTIFUL*

PS (sorry for the multiple comments): Did you take that photo yourself when you saw him a the screening in Pelham?

No, someone else took that picture in New York City. I think it was taken the day after the Pelham event.

My userpic is another photo from New York City.

He looks great in jeans! Are those pictures posted anywhere (to be fully admired) or are they private?

Are these still somewhere in photobucket? It seems that they've been deleted...

Here they are - and also some others of the series the sunglasses store used.

Thanks for sending these! Ironically, he looks much better in the picture I posted (and complained about) in the first place--probably because he had finally escaped the autograph seekers.

Altho I know that many lucky AR fangirls/women have husbands and boyfriends who are wonderfully supportive of their fandom, probably most men who pursue AR for autographs just want to sell them on e-Bay. IMHO.

Those look like e-bayers, definitely. Which man would want an autograph on the nude-photo with the statue? (It's visible in one of the pics with blokes getting autographs...) *LOL*

*LOL* But he does have many male fans! I've not met a man who doesn't like Alan Rickman. (Well, of course if someone's wife ONLY talks about Alan, that might evoke some jealousy... *LOL*) In fact I haven't met anyone who does not like Alan. Not liking him would be like not liking sunshine, kittens, freshly cut grass... :-)

In the U.S., most men--and most women, for that matter--don't know who Teh Man is. (No problem, that's their loss!) I think that most men who are aware of some of AR and some of his movies might agree he seems to be a "good bloke," but they're probably not 'fans' of his; they're more likely to be 'fans' of athletes and sports teams, top video gamers, etc.

Er, Pirate, how many men and boys do you know who rhapsodize about sunshine, kittens and freshly cut-grass?? That wouldn't be very macho!! :-) *lol*

I bet it's worse here in Germany. All the films are dubbed, so his voice is lost. A crime! He is definitely not a household name here, but everyone knows and loves "Professor Snape" *snort*. And Hans Gruber. *LOL* (Yes, not true "fans" probably, although my husband would probably not let him slip away without an autograph and a handshake.)

*LOL* Then... a sports-car and a cold beer?

*LOL* I love your icon. *gnaw* The cutie!

I'm glad you like that icon. There's nothing like a candid smile (and gnaw) from Teh Man, but a picture like this icon is pretty nice too ! :-)
