governing hugs

As previously mentioned, Governor Patrick was speaking at our office today, as a kickoff to the multi-year project to rebuild and revitalize the campus where our office is located. There was an opportunity for questions at the end of the presentation, and a couple of people asked about tax and infrastructure issues. In his answers, Patrick commented as to how no one likes taxes. Well, I DO like taxes, as long as they're spent well, so I took the opportunity to stand up and say so, and why, and thanking him for his work on spending them wisely and asking him to continue to do so. He asked me to stay after the talking so he could give me a hug, and, in fact, as the event was wrapping up, one of his staffers came to find me to bring me up to meet him.

So, I got to hug the governor!

And I'm all nerves after that, but it was pretty neat.
