Hmm, care to lend me that book? I need some reading material (should I ever finish the one I'm stuck with now) *puppy eyes*
Your right about the possibility of having it turned into a kids friendly movie, that's the real bad thing about books which are hyped like this, they try to increase the income from the movie by opening it for a larger audience not caring about the loss of quality. Remember that debate when the third Potter movie was not PG anymore? Terrible. But what I get about the story so far it seems a bit unlikely that they can pull it off. I mean, it would turn out a completely different one if they did, wouldn't it?
LMAO this kitty is just too damn cute. Of course, I'll bring the book along next weekend. :)
They couldn't pull this thing off as a PG movie. Even if they black out all the death scenes and stuff, the whole story is just not kids friendly, imho. This is from the imdb page:
The movie is intense and emotional through the whole thing. This movie might not be for kids. This movie, if exactly like the book(including language and nudity), will be rated PG-13 for intense graphic violence, some language, 2 instances of brief nudity, and frightening images.
Probable Rating: PG-13 FOR SEQUENCES OF INTENSE PROLONGED ACTION VIOLENCE AND MAYHEM, THEMATIC MATERIAL INVOLVING FRIGHTENING CONTENT AND IMAGES AND COMBAT, SOME LANGUAGE, SENSUALITY AND SOME PARTIAL NUDITY.
lol - you know, when we were that age, this movie - especially with such a description - would have been Rated R, or at least it would have been NC17 (does that even exist for movies?). But as long as they stick to it, everything will be just fine :D

Yeah I seriously hope they stick to it. Looking at the cast, they might pull it off. Can't wait to see pics from the set.

When is it due anyway? I guess it won't get out this year anymore, so spring '12 or something like this?

It's slated for a March 22nd 2012 release, so they have a little bit more time to mess it up. ;)

Oh no, they better don't get any stupid ideas, or else...
