I’ve been hearing and reading (mostly emails) about the Mike Guglielmucci scandal all day and frankly, I’m tired of it.
Mostly I’m tired of the abysmal stupidity of individuals with tunnel vision, who say that this is good reason to not trust in Jesus. Secondly, I’m tired of the plethora of conspiracy theories, even though conspiracy theories make for pretty interesting (and mentally stimulating) conversation.
What I know is that Guglielmucci needs some serious help (what’s further from insanity by feigning terminal illness for two years, to one’s own family as well as the entire world?).
What I’ve learned is that a song’s birth has nothing to do with its power - just like your natural parentage has no hold on the potential you have in Christ. I say this because I am pretty sure of what will, most likely inevitably, happen - local authorities will most likely pull Healer off the list of “useable” songs and slap it onto the banned list. Which would be a hell of a double-edged statement, and far more potentially damning, on multiple sides, than they may realise.
But who am I, but a small voice drowned in a sea of conspicuous faces, wildly shouting their own interpretations, adding to the already-unnecessary drama with their very visible, and popularly believed, reactions?
