I'm so pleased. Someone decided to drop off like, eight cartons of books at the office as a gift to the staff.
Granted, not all the books are good or even vaguely useful/interesting, but some are... and who's to reject free books when they come your way? Not me!
I'm actually trying to hide my glee because we've only opened up two of the boxes so far and I've found about five books to take with me -- five books that the office has no interest in and no use for, and therefore has no problem with my running off with.
Of course I'm aware that these may not be what you'd call "epitomies of good writing/thought", but for someone who's been starved of academic reading for a year, these suffice. I really am quite pleased.

Long, Philips V. The Art of Biblical History. Foundations of Contemporary Interpretation, Vol. 5. Leicester, England: Apollos, (Inter-Varsity Press), 1994.
I used a book in this series, Tremper Longman III's Literary Approaches to Biblical Interpretation, for my Honours Thesis. I am so excited! Now I must find some other books in the series: Royce Gorden Gruenler's Meaning and Understanding, and Moises Silva's God, Language and Scripture, for example.
