On Friday afternoon, I got stung by a wasp (at least I think so--I didn't have a stinger in my foot). I was in a store, a mile from home, with Peter tied to my torso. I looked it up as soon as I posted the message, and it's fine as Jess said. It's not nearly so bad today though, so I didn't bother.

My mom's home remedy for stings is to mix meat tenderizer with water until it becomes a paste and slather it on the sting---it's supposed to take away the pain and itchiness. I remember it working when I got stung, but that was when I was a kid, so I could be wrong and misremembering the effectiveness. At any rate, it obviously won't interfere with breastfeeding, so maybe you want to give it a try.

Yeah, I remember my neighbor doing the same thing with baking soda and water I think.

I did try this. I made a mess on the floor and other than the initial cool feel of the paste, it didn't make a noticeable difference.

Dan suggested the meat tenderizer too, which would have been helpful if we'd had some in the house.
