First tooth

Peter has been awfully cranky for the past two weeks (at least in the house--outside, he flirts with everyone he finds), and I was glad to discover the reason for it this morning--a little, sharp white line in his lower gum ( Read more... )

I knew it!

Samuel sends his sympathy and some crankiness too. He seems to be cutting three upper teeth all at once.

Be careful, those new little teeth are sharp :)

Yep, I'm SO relieved that teeth were causing all the whining and insistence upon being carried everywhere 24/7. I love holding him and all, but instant crying upon being set down got a little much.

How many teeth is Samuel up to now?

He's had those two bottom teeth for a long time, seems like 4 months. He's only just started a third tooth, but it's not one of the front two top teeth; rather, it's the next one to the left. So he looks a bit lopsided. We think more top teeth may be imminent.

Samuel also does that act of flirting with everyone when he's outside the house, and saving his crankiness for us. Ah, love. :)

How long did it take his bottom teeth to go from little pointy lines to full-blown teeth? I'm hoping that part is less painful for him than breaking through in the first place.

It's on the order of days to go from the first hint of white to all the way cut through. It's then on the order of weeks before the tooth is all the way out, with its full size visible, but previously we haven't noticed any adverse behavior after the initial cutting. So have hope!

Ah, yes. Only science people ever say "on the order of". It's nice to hear after being around so many non-science educators.
