Tell the truth about something you usually lie about.
Oh, I lie about all kinds of things.
... Whoa, wait, I should back that one up. I don't lie all the time. That's more my Dad's thing, and I've watched Mom see right through it and go upside his head over that kinda thing all the time. All the time.
And I got friends who're a hell of a lot better liars, so they don't have to tell the truth about anythin'. I don't bother tryin' to top them.
But when you get down to it, there's still plenty I've lied about. And since I'm a bad liar, lots of people see straight through it. The only time they don't got anythin' else to go on, so they believe me, is when I tell 'em I'm a freelance computer consultant.
And even that, most people have a hard time believin'. I guess a Southern boy who looks and talks like me isn't supposed to have a mind for that sort of thing, but I do.
I used to like about the thing I used to have for this girl I grew up with, but everybody knew it except her, so I gave up on it. She never seemed to figure it out though, but I think that's all 'cause of her bein' too busy with that asshole boyfriend of hers.
But I've moved on. I swear. I'm not waitin' around anymore. It's not healthy, y'know? Not when you know for sure a friend's all you're ever gonna be, and deep down you're pretty fine with that.
There's other stuff I lie about, but I save it mostly for people that don't know me all that well. Or if I need to get out of somethin'. Anythin' like that.
But if I had to get specific for this thing, and find somethin' that I'd tell everyone but isn't true at all?

Good thing she's another one I know for sure I don't have a chance with. No way in hell am I gettin' my hopes up all over again.
