Plane Crash Drill (Trigger Warning!)

Trigger warning!

The following images will include fake blood and police scenes.

In 2012 I participated in a plane crash drill which was an amazing experience.

I was supposed to play a little kid looking for help for his mother (and at the time, my mother was pregnant with my youngest brother, so she was playing a pregnant lady, injured and about to give birth)

Well, a couple of days ago I heard that they were doing another one of those drills on the airport in the next town from me so me and a couple of friends from my school decided to sign up for participation. My mum also drove up here to examine as a worker for the local emergency line.

This time I was playing the co-pilot that knew CPR and was supposed to be extremely meddlesome and interruptive. It was hilarious, people loved my acting but hated my character. I even got escorted to the corner by the police when I ran to the other pilot screaming at them to wake her up.

Climbing out of the "Pilot cabin" after the firemen sawed it apart.

Everyone arriving at the airport which was used as a shelter and a temporary hospital.

The experience started off great but then we got hit by a bad storm that kind of made the whole thing more realistic. By the end we could barely stand upright, and I could hear on the radio that people all over Iceland were recommended to stay inside. Luckily, we managed to finish the drill, got together in the dining area and ate together before driving back.

My village was a mess when we got back. The garbage bins had blown over our lawns and junk from the construction site was blocking the road.

It was a long day, but I loved it.

I hope you all are having a wonderful day and thank you for reading.

The song of the day is Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen - Louis Armstrong
