SEE?!?! i AM a GIANT!!!
aaaaand~ a story:
so, i got a rental car the other day... wednesday evening, actually.... and the story~~ is pretty funny, so i thought i'd share.
i get the keys and hop into my rental and i look down and see 3 pedals...

and i think to myself...

WTF?!?!
and then i look to my right and i see |-|-| (think *picture/diagram on top of the shifter*)....

and then i freak out...

HOLY COW! it's a STICK!!!
and then i run back into the rental office and try to explain to the german lady that i can't take that car because i can drive manual, but not very well and all the while she's like, what? and so i give her the keys back and say "MANUAL" while pointing outside to the car and then at myself while shaking my head "no."
and she gives me this look like, what the heck? you don't want it anymore? you just signed the papers!! and says "no want?"
then i say "AUTOMATIC. I need AUTOMATIC." and she says, "Yes, das ist auto." and i'm thinking, yes~ lady... i KNOW that's a car!!
so some nice bald dude steps up and tell the lady something about amerikanerin (american woman/female) cannit (cannot) something something. and she says, ooooh~ and rips up the paperwork we just did, and i'm freakin out like WTF again~ she re-does the paperwork (a lot faster than when we first did it, mind you) and then hands me another set of keys....
by this time i'm just confused and i take the keys and walk outside, hoping she gave me an automatic car. lo and behold~~ i've got an automatic! and apparently, it was the only automatic car they had available.... a volvo v50 - station wagon.
so, yes.... leann is driving around in a station wagon (a kind of nice one, i guess) for 2~3 weeks until her lexus arrives in germany.
another story:
i can barely get this station wagon into my underground garage/parking spot.... it took me 5 or 6 tries to get the damn car OUT of the garage.... and i have NO idea how i'm gonna manage w/ my lexus which is a foot longer and 2 inches wider than this volvo. *sigh*
