Tuesday: PBL class @ 0830. Did my presentation on Chronic Pain and I think I failed but my friends said it went pretty well so it's good enough I guess? Like every other presentation I did I stayed up the whole night writing the handout and making the powerpoint lol XD; I'm probably gonna die at age 40 screwing up my sleeping schedule like this every week 8D;;; Clinical lab @ 1230 and almost fall asleep even though I was sitting RIGHT IN FRONT of the instructor. Pathophysiology seminar @ 1430.
Wednesday: Meeting w/ clinical instructor @ 0930. Went over the learning plan and then I proposed that I hand in my care plan assignment at 4am on Thursday morning instead of 10pm on Wednesday night... Earned myself a 5 seconds blank stare from my instructor, instructor being honest and telling me that she actually wanted to change the due time to 8pm so that she can go to bed at 9:30pm on Wednesday nights, and then ended up telling me that if I really find it easier, I can hand it in whenever I like as long as I remember to print a copy to class (which we have to anyway, regardless of when we hand it in). I won? XD *shot* Went to Pathophysiology class at 1230 instead because of the 0930 meeting. I knew more about acute myelogenous leukemia than what the professor taught in class today so I'm gonna ace that part of the midterm for sure. w00t? Edit: Urge to kill classmate arises because 1) she dissed Kageyama's singing 2) she rushed me to switch lane on a highway when I was trying to be a safe driver.
Thursday: Clinical practicum @ 0630. Woke up at 0445 to catch the 0553 skytrain to St. Paul's (I meant to catch the 0540 train but uhh missed it by 30 seconds)... Well, it's either I skytrain or pay $12 parking, so... Anyhow, my patient this week is a guy in his mid-40's who fall off a bike (brake problem). He broke both arms when bracing himself from the fall (if he didn't brace himself he'd have hit his head and things would have been a lot uglier, so good for him.) Because it's morning shift I had to provide him morning care... and to be very honest, helping a guy in his mid-40's bathe is... very different from helping a 80+ years old elderly bathe. Classmate's comment on me: I don't know if you realized but you were blushing the whole time I was there helping you out...^^;
oTL.
Physiotherapy in-service at 0930, and then my patient was sent to the operation room when I returned so I just helped out other classmates for the rest of the morning. Went home after buying groceries for mom by 1630, slept till dinner @ 2000, and went back to sleep after dinner till 0300 to do the online posting stuff for Pharmacology...... only to find that the closing time for that is actually Jan 22 12:30am, which means it was closed 3 hours ago. hahaha OTL.
Friday: Clinical practicum @ 0630. Went to said hi to my patient and he looked miserable after the operation @_@; But well I left at 0800 to go to the computer training class so... yeah. Didn't have to do morning care today w00t XD; Came back by like 1100 and went to the Delirium presentation... apparently a nurse got strangled by a patient with delirium last month here O_O aaaand apparently the incidence of delirium is actually much higher at medical-surgical units than at psychotic units O_______O and most of them are affected by the sundown syndrome. Interesting facts to learn indeed. Went to have Mongolian grill with
maiea and it was pretty nice for $6! We are gonna go together again in 2 weeks =D Then I went to UBC to figure out the Pharmacology online problem and the instructor corrected it after she saw my e-mail. Whew. Then I looked up books on Brain Death while feeling pretty brain dead x_x But at least I was somewhat productive before going to the showing, hahahaha 8D Gave
snakeyhoho her sister's tissues lol.
Saturday: Slept in. Ate. Watched TV. Washed dishes. Posted on LJ 8D; Really should organize the Japan photos and post them...
