Nursing #15

Nov 15, 2009 16:38

Monday: Just like any other usual Mondays w/o tests and assignments due. Went to the library to borrow tons of books for an upcoming presentation, and broke my bag in the process. (books were too heavy) Got patho midterm marks and I got 71%. Oh wellz... didn't study much for it so it's kinda expected. Was refreshing my e-mail inbox the whole afternoon in class, but the patient info for tmr still didn't come in... (usually the teacher sends it by 2pm, but this week it wasn't out till 5:30pm)... I had to go home to do it. Went to sleep at 2:30am @_@;

Tuesday: Clinical class @ 7am. My patient is a 82 years old lady who speaks Cantonese. She is very friendly and I had a nice time chatting w/ her. She has super severe back pain and she can't sit/stand up x_x; Went to sugi_s's place after class to pick up the Jakomaru figures <3 and stared at her random otaku stuff for a while XD Went home to nap till dinner, and then slept at midnight-ish.

Wednesday: Went to aiwa09's birthday lunch. Saw a bunch of friends that I haven't seen since Summer. =3 Went home at 4pm and slaaaacked off till like, 11pm and wrote my Tuesday clinical class journal and studied a bit for my skills test tomorrow.

Thursday: Skills testing today. Just as my friend predicted, I'm partnered up with her. It's by last name so yeah. XD; She is nervous and she just said everything, so I pretty much just filled in whatever she missed. We got 20/20 so it's all good. =D (tbh I'm not nervous about this test at all XD; So I didn't spend much time studying for it either.) And then for PBL class I'm the chairperson for the class. My classmate doesn't seem to like the snacks I brought in (I guess people don't like onion-flavoured food like I do XD)... oh wellz. I really hate PBL class... not because I have to do presentations, but because I still find giving feedback very hard to do. My friends thought it's funny that I could churn out a whole presentation and paper in one night, yet get super freaked out when I have to give feedback (and as chairperson you have to give lots). =_=; Normally people worry about getting a presentation done while I worry about how to give feedbacks ._.; Well I can't help it... There are more PBL classes in level 2, 3, 4 (read: in the next 1.5 year)... OTL OTL OTL. After class I met with my clinical instructor and she continues to mention how I have to think critically and if I still can't do it by the next 3 weeks I may fail that class. @_@; (failing that class is pretty much failing the program itself) *sigh* maybe I should have just continued studying piano instead of going into nursing =_= at least I could make more money hourly than a nurse once I get my piano certificate and I don't have to wipe people's butt (literally). So much for trying to get a nicely paid stable job.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday: Went to Patho seminar Monday so nothing today. Nothing much in Saturday, and nothing much today either. Just slaaaacked pretty much. Should start researching for presentation soon.

It really makes me wonder if nursing is really the right career for me. I thought I did well in clinical class but apparently I'm at the edge of failing that class. lolwut. and there are no otakus in the program it's lonely Critical thinking is such a vague thing...
