It's a virtual explosion of temporal energies. A wave of power ebbing from a single, unified point in south New York State. From one moment, there was the crisp, clean New York City.
Arabelle was driving her bike down one of the lesser streets, giving it a test run after repairing it. The clap of thunder, on the clear sunny day was what initially drew her attention, "What the friggin' flying shit was that?" She glances to the mirrors she has mounted on the bike.
That's when she sees it. The bright, technicolor blast of a temporal wave right behind her, "Holy shit" She attempts to trigger her PINpoints while jamming the gas to pick up speed on the bike. She gets an interference error, "Oh shit, oh SHIT" She revs the bike and hits a higher speed. "Shit, I'm not gonna make it, I'm not gonna MAKE IT"
It was having to weave through traffic, and the fact that she was beginning to run out of straight road to drive down, and the fact that it was unrelenting, and faster than her bike could go. "SHIT SHIT SHI--"
The wave hit. And everything changed.
Gone was most of the picturesque sight of the New York City skyline, except for Heaven's Tower, which continued to stand among the crumbling and battered Skycrapers. With various 'arms' reaching out omniously over the battered and destroyed city. There was no wave, no temporal storm. But there were clouds overcast, and a storm coming.
The storm is what made it the best reason to do this now, she thought. Arabelle Kintotech hauled ass on the bike she managed to scrape together from spare parts and shit 'borrowed' from the Nexus. The deed itself was done, this was the getaway. Of course, with the Black Kaiser backing her up and jetting just behind her via the power armor, this was pretty much a cinch.
Getting out of New York, however, was the tricky part. Especially for wanted mutants--highly wanted mutants such as Goldenwing and the Black Kaiser. As such, the escape route was already planned. Arabelle brought the bike to a halt at a section of road that had collapsed downwards. The war in two thousand in two had taken its toll on the city, New York was hit the hardest, and first, mainly because Epsilon wanted to make Heaven's Tower his palace.
Ara got off the bike and worked her way down to the tunnel below, regarding the slab of cement that blocked their way.
"Well?" Came the deep synthisized voice behind her.
"Good a time as any ta field test." Arabelle brought up her right wrist--the cybernetic one, and tapped in a command to her forearm.
Kaiser looked at her with a sort of shocked expression behind the mask, one Arabelle knew more well than she'd probably ever admit, "A field test? You haven't tested that damned thing?"
"Look, you wanted me to make it work a day before we did this, a field test is what you get Skully." With a click and a whirr, a mechanical device popped out of the top compartment of cybernetic arm, and she aimed it for a high point on the cement slab, "Might wanna stand back." And with a high pitched whine, a red laser started to fire out of the device. A cutting tool, that was being used to slice a large doorway into the cement.
Once done, Arabelle gestured, "If you wouldn't mind?"
Kaiser made a slightly annoyed sound, with a motion that could only be rolling her eyes, and gestured sharply at the freshly cut slab. The loose piece flew into the tunnel suddenly and landed with a loud bang and crash of cement. "..Don't call my 'Skully'."
"Whatever." Arabelle spread her wings and made a leap for her bike, starting the engine and making the small jump down the incline (using her wings to aid, since it's light enough to do so). "And someone'll've heard that, let's get the hell out of here before the friggin' Sentinals show up, between the two of us, and as many of them..."
"I get the point. Go."
With that, Arabelle reved, and went speeding down the tunnelway. A little ways down, they collapsed the tunnel intentionally to prevent being followed. Taking the long and roundabout way to get to North Salem, but the best way, really...

((OOC:
To Explain: Arabelle still has many of her Nexus memories, but they have been effectively altered heavily by the massive change in her timeline! This should be fun))
