it's been a while...
A lot has gone on in the past -really long time since I've updated. lots of everything. mostly good, some not.
+ road trip! I went to tahoe to berkeley to santa cruz and back home, all in a week. I didn't get to spend nearly enough time in each place. I went skiing and made some awesome improvements to my car with ub in tahoe, met friends and had a great lunch with casey, cece, and jo in berkeley, and had a great time hanging out with jessie in santa cruz. I even stopped by to see bert in oxnard and grandma in PV on my way back. lots of driving. lots of socializing mixed in with long bouts of alone time in my car (both of which I love). lots of thoughts.
highlights: family. skiing MUCH better than I thought I could. smoking pot in an icy cave tucked under a blanket of snow. minestrone soup. FINALLY being able to listen to music in my car. friends. beating jessie at left-handed air hockey. catching up with an interesting person from girl scouts. vegan recipes. seeing grandma on her birthday. and more.
+ great fun with good friends in the desert. finding a cool camping spot in the middle of the night when we were almost out of hope. big, amazing rocks. fish and chicken wings cooked over a campfire (don't underestimate clint's power). tea. enough clothing layers to keep an eskimo warm, but not me :p pink floyd under the desert sky. the smell of campfire in my clothes. lots of smoke in my hair. (no call/no show at work, but I made up a good lie) driving home WAY too early and WAY too quickly to find out I didn't work until evening. but I got over 400mi to the tank, compared to the usual 325!
+ laura is a new member of the 21+ world! I'm glad chris called me. it was fun :)
+ I will be accompanying jessie to brooklyn to help her move there and find a place to live. lots of feelings. at least I won't have to get an international calling plan.
+ I got a raise at work! It's like the sims: you learn a skill, you get a raise. my new skill is *dundundun* I can take drive thru orders on the speaker! I get 25c more for that ability. go me.
- I got written up for having a hickey. and I would have been sent home, except that the mgr. was being *nice.* I looked throughout the whole manual and it doesn't say anything about hickeys, and my company is full of nazis.
- yewy attacked weeno and tried to rip his beak off. thanks to her gentle nature, all she did was make a hole in his cheek skin. he wouldn't eat for a day (but the little fatass couldn't resist pasta and ice cream). I got incredibly parentally worried, but my baby is fine.
- ashley. it just makes you think. I remember her square feet. last night ub said "die young so you can leave a pretty corpse." I don't know if I agree. I hope it was peaceful.
tonight: drum circle. I will use my time to contemplate new beginnings, and that which causes them.
