You Gotta Carry That Weight A Long Time

I went and got a big old huge slab of corned beef brisket. I also got some rice krispies and marshmallows and green food dye to make some green rice krispy treats. The kids and I might also make some green homemade playdough. Jay is on-call tomorrow so he will probably be taking care of somebody that had too much of the green beer.

I ordered my dad a metal detector for his b-day on saturday. There is nothing really to top off 'crazy old man' like a metal detector. He has 40 acres to go and look for treasure on.

I have been watching more of my netflix instant queue. I watched The Last Station about the relationship of Sofia and Leo Tolstoy w/ Helen Mirren. I have been watching the Inspector Lynley series from BBC and I think I have now watched the ones they have and it was only the first season and I am seriously considering ordering some. I watched a documentary about the singer/songwriter Harry Nilsson and I now have his songs in constant rotation in my head. Weirdly his third wife and widow was named Una. Una and Harry.

I don't think I shall finish my dad's sweater by his b-day as I might be able to finish the body tonight but I still have the arms left. Arms go fast though. As it is top-down there is no seaming!!!!

Zelda is feeling so low down that i feel i could take a really wide step and she could drop out.

I am still on my Maira Kaiman kick and I just ordered a book that is supposed to go along with an exhibit of her work. I bought an Ernst Kirchner print when i was at the Minneapolis Museum of Art and I brought it to Michaels to get framed. It disturbs my husband so I don't know if it will be allowed in either our bedroom or living room. Guest room?

Making my way slowly through Bleak House by Dickens. He always tosses in this huge motley crew of characters which you find yourself working to remember who exactly they are for the first several hundred pages and finally they are all starting to weave together. I don't find his naming witty--I find it irritating. This is really my only complaint about Dickens.
