this, that and the other
this week has been a week of taking care of business.
I got a root canal i had put off since May! We finally got Harry's braces installed. We knew for years this had to happen but we wanted to wait until jay had a real gig given that the price of braces is about 5K. Insurance paid about 1/5.
We just had the boiler inspected and cleaned and it was all good and we also had the chimney inspected and cleaned. The guy said we can burn logs in the fireplace which is nice because they told us that the one in Lansing wasn't properly lined so all we ever did was duraflame logs.
I think i am going to call the steamcleaner people for our stairs and 2nd floor landing. I would prefer to just have the carpet ripped out and a new one installed but.....
it does feel nice to take care of such things. Fun things to spend money on? no. But there is a certain amount of feeling like a responsible adult which is nice.
tomorrow kids' halloween party. costume parade and jay will help in one class and i will help in another.
the day before we got our first snow of the year we had bought f/c and una fall/winter coats.
Ellyn's 21st birthday is in two weeks.
I am now 17 weeks pregnant.
