I have been baking, sewing and knitting a lot recently.
I had a bit of revelation when i read that julia child said that a cook's best tool is her hands.
I spent most of my adult life thinking that my life/career would involve around my head. I was going to be a professional thinker. My hands would assist--sort of.
With my staying at home for the last 7 years my career has focused on products of my more biological parts. Not that my brain isn't biological but i think you get what i am saying.
My current life does not leave a lot of time and/or energy for thinking and reflecting and moving beyond mere consciousness to higher levels of self-consciousness.
For this reason maybe I have moved to creating things with my hands--the knitting and sewing. I do get a joy out of creating these things.
Maybe there will be a time when I can go back to having a life of the mind.
