Man, Koreans are really good at making catchy upbeat songs that seem to be about nothing in particular. They are also really good at coming up with song titles that are just noises and aren't real words at all lol :DDD
I went out with some friends the other day and we ate at Hanabi. They were broadcasting a live music show from Korea with all the latest talent, and not even Jade, the korean international student we were with knew who some of them were. And like with most korean tv shows or concerts I tended to watch with amused interest for a while and then switch off or turn back to the conversation at hand. Theres only so much brightly coloured plastic cutesy girls and boys I can take after all...
Until I came across this gem:
OMG THESE GUYS MAKE ME FEEL LIKE A DIRTY PEDO, JUST WATCHING THEM BO BEEP BO BEEP ALL OVER THE STAGE WITH THEIR CUTESY CAT EARS AND PAWS AND THEIR SHORT PINK LITTLE UNIFORMS. Wtf does Bo Beep Bo Beep Bo Beep mean anyway??? Despite its ridiculousnesss it is strangely catchy... its like a cuter, newer replacement for Gee by Girl's Generation. I never thought I'd see anything that could out-cute Gee. I was wrong O_o
Needless to say I was transfixed, and spent the rest of the meal glued to the tv screen to see what I have been missing out on over the last couple of months. And then I found something possibly cuter that could give Bo Beep a run for its money:
LOL CHU wtf!! Hahahaha. I totally have a girl-crush on Amber now (the boyish one with the bob haircut). I have no idea why, she's just so different from the rest of the cutesy girls in the group, I like her style. I thought I was over my obsession with listening to cutesy girl kpop bands and their lyrics that made no sense. I WAS WRONG D:
On the other hand though I did come across this really awesome song, which pushes the boundaries of girl bands a bit:
Now from watching this you might think although some of the dance moves are suggestive its not that controversial, well... go here to see the actual music video (with eng subtitles). How THIS was not banned from korean tv I have no idea... apparently a lot of koreans were shocked when they first saw the video. Whatever the case It has now become my new favourite kpop song >:D
