Hard Links

The possessed cluster I have been spending all of my weekends on has finally be corralled. We are not sure if they are 100% fixed but I am no longer running patches and fixes through test, dev, production cycles and there does not appear to be any other weekend work in the near future HUZZAH. With the game not running this weekend I am kinda in a state of shock not sure what do with myself. Donna and I are talking about going to on the state parks in the areas to get out and do something. Donna has several resumes out and has had one interview so far. We have our fingers crossed but the job market here is being depressed by the slowing economy. As I assume it is nearly every where else.

Had to deal with some bad , whats the word, technical jargon this week. Someone started talking about using hard links in a current project we were designing saying it was necessary for their app. This went through different channels with our architect getting a bit upset since hard links are pretty much unused. Then some other division step in and said that the original group not only required hardlinks but they wanted them on the new NAS NFS component of the new solution. This makes no sense to me (hard links don't work like that) and sets off the architect. Digging into today they group wants the NFS mount parameter "hard" set not hard links... Whew about 5 days of different groups getting into a huff over a misunderstanding. Heh its like playing telephone some days.
