So I have been watching Holmes on Homes a really good series about a contractor that fixes mistakes other contractors have made. Which has led me to start picking out things for my future home. Like what kind of water heater I want, how I want the plumbing done, what type/style of tiles etc. My friends father would architect new houses as a hobby and I can really see the appeal of that now as I sit here and doodle.
Today was fun EMC took us out for a retreat and some corporate sales pitches good food and nifty swag + no work = YAY! Also in the good news front I finished my taxes and found out I getting a huge refund this year. I didn't catch it but I guess I never put any deductions down at the new job so I was way overpaying. Taking into account the costs for the move for the new job and Donna's education didn't hurt at all either. So I am not sure what we are going to do but it feels nice that a windfall is on the way.
On the not so good news front (blah news front?) found out the DHL/DWPN is planning on outsourcing their IT services to HP. Since DHL is owned by the same company as us we might get caught up in the transition. Thankfully I am not worried for my job most likely if it all went through I would be just working for HP; same office, same job, just a different name on my check. Things are still in the planning stages so it will be probably a year before any changes happen.
On a lighter note the president of DWPN the company who owns us and is one of the largest German companies was evading taxes and got arrested.
