Coupon Love
I woke up early this morning because of a phone call and couldn't fall back asleep so I decided I would go to Giant Eagle to do some quick shopping.
Giant Eagle here in Cuyahoga Falls, OH will double coupons up to .99. This past week I met a woman on Akron Freecycle who delivers the newspaper and is going to give me her extra coupons from the Sunday papers. She gave me a ton this week. As I was looking through them to see if there were any I could use, there were! Right Guard deodorant .75 cents off. This would be a 1.50 off! Right Guard was already on sale from the normal 2.50 to 1.99 this week. So I got them for .50 cents each. I only had 3 copies of this coupon section so I could only get 3, but I bought 3 deodorants for less than the normal or sale price of 1!
While I was looking through a different coupon section I found coupons for .75 cents off Campbell's Select Soup. I had 4 coupons for this. Ya know, the one with John Lithgow in the advertisements . . . Its in a box and really expensive so you never buy it, but would if it were cheaper? Once I found it in the store I noticed one type of the soup, Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato, was discontinued so it was on sale for 1.29 a box! I bought two of those which would be free after my coupons! Then I chose Blended Red Pepper Black Bean soup. It was the normal price of 2.59. But it was 1.50 off so it was 1.09 a box. When she rang me up, I don't know how the computer decided this but they just added all the soup together for a total of 7.76 and subtracted all the coupon value of 6.00 for a total of 1.76 for the soup! Four boxes would 10.36. I got 4 for 1.76. That's .44 cents a box!
On my receipt it saves I had a savings of 12.00. I think thats a pretty good savings. I only spent 3.42. Its a good day!
