Re: #7... My wife has pretty much all the standard Pentecostal / Protestant objections to Orthodoxy, from "idol worship" (venerating icons) to "praying to saints and Mary" (asking for their intercessory prayers) to the "dead liturgy" (versus the rock-band worship music she prefers), etc.
However, I'm finding myself increasingly needing to be obedient to God, whom I feel has been calling me to the Orthodox Church, and to trust Him to smooth out the rough spots.
My older daughter seems intrigued by my morning prayers (I usually do them as my girls are awake and around), as she keeps asking what I'm doing as I speak them aloud. I figure I can try to model Orthodox spirituality to my children and let them decide, just in case my wife and I can't come to an agreement.
I had those same objections as Isaac was leading us to Orthodoxy. They are difficult for the Protestant mind to understand. I think its great you are trying to teach your faith by example to your children. A lot of times, and this is without personal experience and only from my priest's guidance, but it is through our children that we are sanctified for lack of a better word.
